Press Release

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Governor Jerry Brown signed off on a deal that would more than triple funding for California’s film and TV tax credit program. The program would increase to $330 million over the next five years. Rep. Judy Chu (CA-27), who earlier this month led a bipartisan letter signed by 35 members of the California delegation to Gov. Brown, supporting AB 1839, released the following statement:

“This is a big win for California. Gov. Brown’s approval of a robust and competitive tax credit will not only help keep our production jobs, but hopefully bring them back to our state,” said Rep. Chu. “Now our craftsmen and women who are forced to leave their families for months to follow their jobs will be able to find work closer to home.  I applaud the Governor and State Legislature for their commitment in making sure we maintain our strong heritage in the film and television industry.
