Residents of the 32nd District Saved More than Half a Million Dollars in 2011 Thanks to Congresswoman Chu
El Monte, CA – Congresswoman Judy Chu’s efforts to help the residents of California’s 32nd District amounted to $598,254.95 in direct savings for her constituents last year. The savings accumulated over the course of 2011 as a direct result of Congresswoman Chu’s casework services for residents in the district.
“I am proud to have the opportunity to help so many people within our community,” said Congresswoman Chu. “Every time a struggling homeowner navigates the loan modification process to lower their monthly payments or a senior citizen secures Medicare benefits to cover their health costs, they end up saving money. Whenever a veteran receives their due benefits or a taxpayer takes advantage of a free filing consultation, they save money. These are just a few of the countless ways my office works for our community on a daily basis. When you start adding up the impact of all of these individual services, the bottom line is residents of the 32nd District saved money!”
