Washington, DC – Tonight, the House passed H.R. 3684, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, a $1.2 trillion investment in infrastructure like roads, transit, and broadband that also encourages environmental protection, renewability, and electric vehicles. The House also passed the rule for H.R. 5376, the Build Back Better Act. Rep. Judy Chu (CA-27), who voted to pass both the bill and the rule, issued the following statement:
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today the House passed the INVEST in America Act, a bipartisan bill to pave the way for $715 billion in investments in surface transportation and water infrastructure that will create millions of good-paying jobs while preparing our country for the next century.
WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Reps. Judy Chu (CA-27) and Grace F. Napolitano (CA-32) announced the awarding of a $30 million U.S. Department of Transportation INFRA Grant for the State Route 57/60 Confluence Chokepoint Relief Project.
The House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure (T&I) plans to advance surface transportation authorization legislation later this spring, building on H.R. 2, the Moving Forward Act, from the 116th Congress. Chair Peter DeFazio announced that the T&I Committee will formally accept requests for projects from House Members.
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 2, the Moving Forward Act, a $1.5 trillion infrastructure bill that invests in roads, bridges, schools, housing, broadband, and more. The Moving Forward Act will improve traffic safety with a $300 billion investment in roads and bridges while also investing over $100 billion in zero-emissions buses and alternative fuel charging infrastructure. And it further helps the environment and Americans' health with $25 billion for safe drinking water and over $70 billion to use more renewable and clean fuels for our electric grid.
