Congresswoman Judy Chu Applauds Launch of FlyRights 2.0 Mobile Application
November 26, 2013
Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Judy Chu (CA-27) released the following statement on the launch of FlyRights 2.0, a mobile application that enables travelers to report airport profiling and screening discrimination directly to the TSA:
“Airport safety measures based on someone’s race, gender or faith are not safety measures at all – they alienate targeted communities and make victims out of travelers. Nowhere is this more apparent than with the Sikh American community in aftermath of 9/11. The FlyRights mobile app is a direct result of this mistreatment, and while I am pleased to see the many ways that it empowers travelers to fight back against profiling, I look forward to the day when such precautions will not be needed.”
