Rep. Chu to Host Free Job Hunters Boot Camp to Help Californians Get Back to Work
Pasadena, CA – Rep. Judy Chu (CA-27) will host her fifth free Job Hunters Boot Camp for residents of the California 27th District looking to get back into the workforce on Friday August 29. The event will feature a series of workshops designed to help job seekers develop new skills as well as resource tables to provide one-on-one resume critiques, training, classes, and information on other available opportunities. Workshop topics will include interview skills, resume writing, starting your own business, job searching using technology, green jobs, changing careers for those over 55, veteran employment, and more.
“Though the economy continues to recover, the pace is slow. And every day I hear the stories of constituents struggling to get back to work. With such high demand for jobs, even the most skilled and experienced workers can be frustrated by trying to reenter the workforce. For some, learning about new tools and making connections can make all the difference. As part of my commitment to get Californians back to work, I am happy to once again connect residents with the resources they need,” said Rep. Chu.
