Rep. Chu Votes Yes on Resolution Condemning Political Violence
Washington, D.C. – Today, Representative Judy Chu (CA-28) voted yes on H.Res. 719, “Honoring the life and legacy of Charles ‘Charlie’ James Kirk” and released the following statement:
“Today, I voted yes on a resolution condemning the horrific assassination of Charlie Kirk and calling on all Americans to reject political violence. My vote is not in any way an endorsement of Kirk’s views or his work, but a firm rejection of the rising political violence in our country that claimed his life and poses an existential threat to American democracy. We all have a responsibility to reject this violence in the strongest possible terms, regardless of one’s ideology.
“I am also proud to cosponsor H.Res. 746, a resolution condemning the many instances of political violence in America over the last several years, and I encourage Speaker Johnson to bring it to the floor for a vote.”
