WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, FEMA upheld its denial of California’s appeal for supplemental funding for the Disaster Case Management Program (DCMP), with no further opportunity to appeal. The program connects survivors of the January 2025 Eaton and Palisades Fires with case managers who help them navigate insurance claims, find housing, and access federal assistance. The supplemental funding would have sustained DCMP through the full 24-month timeframe that FEMA itself approved.
WASHINGTON, D.C.– As Breast Cancer Awareness Month comes to a close, Representatives Judy Chu (CA-28) and Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-01) reintroduced the bipartisan Breast Cancer Patient Equity Act to close a critical gap in Medicare coverage for breast cancer survivors who have undergone mastectomies. While Medicare covers traditional breast prostheses and surgical breast reconstruction, custom-fabricated breast prostheses are not covered in the same way, leaving survivors without access to an important nonsurgical option.
