Chu's bill, the Charter School Good Governance and Transparency Act, directs charter schools to complete annual independent financial audits that ensure they follow sound financial practices and properly spend education dollars on our nation's students.

Last night, police rescued 35 immigrants being held hostage in a Baldwin Park, California home. According to reports, they were smuggled into the country from Mexico and Central America and had been held hostage for the past month in an 800-square-foot residence until family members paid their captives a certain sum of money.
