Congresswoman Judy Chu hosted a successful Health Care Town Hall meeting on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the City of Hope's Cooper Auditorium. More than 500 people attended the event, with most of them supporting a health care reform bill with a strong public option.

EL MONTE, CA – Rep. Judy Chu, D-El Monte, issued the following statement today on the Senate's confirmation this afternoon of Judge Sonia Sotomayor as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States:
"The Senate's confirmation of Judge Sonia Sotomayor as our nation’s newest Supreme Court Justice is a giant leap forward not only for women and communities of color, but for the United States of America as a whole.
Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Judy Chu, D-CA32, voted to increase funding for the "cash for clunkers" program. The initial launch has been so successful in encouraging Americans to trade in their old gas guzzlers for new fuel-efficient cars, that funding ran out and Congress is acting quickly to extend it.
U.S. Rep. Judy Chu, D-CA32, the newest member of Congress, addressed her House Colleagues during a speech on the House Floor on the importance of passing the America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009. She spoke during the "one-minute" floor speeches, part of the regular House Session on Thursday, July 30, 2009.
U.S. Representative Judy Chu (D-CA) was sworn in as a Member of the United States House of Representatives. She replaced Hilda Solis as a representative of California's 32nd District.
In addition, the new Congresswoman is the first Chinese American woman elected to the United States Congress.
The office launches a new website for district residents of the 32nd District of California.
It is aimed to allow site visitors to access to the latest information from Capitol Hill.
