Cory Booker (NJ) introduced the DIPLOMA Act, legislation that would provide federal grants to states to encourage and support Community Schools, which are collaborations between schools and community partners to address students’ holistic needs through evidence-based practices. States can also use a portion of the planning grants to design their strategies, ensuring thoughtful and effective implementation.

PASADENA, CA — Today, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), a NASA Center that is administered by the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), will reduce its workforce by about 325 employees, or approximately 5 percent of its total staff, through layoffs, following an assessment of its funding.0

PASADENA, CA — Today, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced it was exercising its five-year option period extending the contract for the GEO Group-owned Adelanto ICE Processing Center in Adelanto, California, through December 19, 2029. While the facility will remain open, it’s still under a court-ordered intake prohibition that has been in place since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020.
