Washington, DC — Today, the House Ways and Means Committee held a markup of H.R. 5377, the Restoring Tax Fairness for States and Localities Act of 2019, which reverses the cap on the deduction for state and local taxes (SALT) originally implemented by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. The 504/CDC program facilitates small business growth by helping firms secure affordable capital for investments in land, buildings, and fixed assets.

Washington, DC — Today, the House of Representatives voted to pass H.R. 4, the Voting Rights Advancement Act of 2019 (VRAA). The VRAA is a response to the Supreme Court's decision in Shelby County v. Holder that required Congress to create an updated coverage formula for determining if the Federal government can intervene in a state's election laws. Since that Supreme Court decision, nearly two dozen states have implemented restrictive voter ID laws and created obstacles for people to vote.

Washington, DC — The House Natural Resources Committee today voted 20-13 in favor of H.R. 2215, the San Gabriel Mountains Foothills and Rivers Protection Act. Introduced by Rep.
