On September 14, Ahmed Mohamed, 14, was arrested and suspended from his school in Irving, Texas for bringing a clock that he built himself into school. According to reports, teachers and police accused Mohamed of instead making a bomb.

Today, the House Judiciary Committee held a hearing on Planned Parenthood. The hearing comes after the recent release of edited videos that purport to reveal illegal activities by Planned Parenthood employees, despite numerous claims that question their conclusions. Ahead of the hearing, Rep. Judy Chu (CA-27), a member of the Judiciary Committee, sent a letter signed by 11 members to Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (VA-6) urging the release of the “full, unedited source footage” as Congressional investigations proceed.

Today, President Obama announced the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) will receive federal support as one of eleven clean energy projects, which are to be funded by the Department of Energy’s Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E).
