WASHINGTON, D.C. – The House of Representatives today voted unanimously to pass H.R. 2857 the Supporting Families in Substance Abuse Treatment Act. Introduced by Rep. Judy Chu (CA-27), H.R. 2857 will allow for states to be reimbursed for the care of children who stay with their parents while enrolled in a family substance abuse program. Under current law, states only receive a match in federal funding of 50% or more when a child is placed with a foster family during a parent's treatment.

Judy Chu (CA-27) and 200 Members of Congress have filed a federal lawsuit against President Trump for violating one of the Constitution's critical anti-corruption provisions: the Foreign Emoluments Clause. The emoluments clause prohibits the President from accepting foreign payments without seeking and receiving Congressional authorization.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the House Small Business Committee completed a markup of a number of small business bills, including H.R. 2364, the Investing in Main Street Act introduced by Rep. Judy Chu (CA-27) along with Rep. Grace Meng (NY-06) and Rep. Steve Knight (CA-25). This bill would amend the Small Businesses Investment Act of 1958 to increase the percentage of capital and surplus that a bank or federal savings association may invest in Small Business Investment Companies (SBICs) to match current banking regulations.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – As Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan should denounce the anti-Muslim comments from Congressman Clay Higgins, according to a letter sent today by Rep. Judy Chu. On Sunday, June 4, Congressman Higgins posted on Facebook that "all of Christendom...is at war with Islamic horror" and exhorted his followers to "kill them all." This despite the fact that the vast majority of victims of terror from ISIS and others are themselves Muslims.

The bill requires that at least one Veterans Administration (VA) health facility per Integrated Service Network provide acupuncture services to veterans enrolled in the VA health system. Rep. This morning, it was reported that President Donald Trump was preparing to pull the U.S. out of the Paris Climate Agreement. The Paris Agreement, adopted in December 2015 and signed by the U.S. in April 2016, is an historic agreement between 195 countries to keep climate change below 2 degrees Celsius.
