Washington, DC — Today, the House of Representatives voted unanimously in favor of H.R. 6110, the MOST Act, which was introduced by Reps. Judy Chu (CA-27) and Jackie Walorski (IN-02). The bill would direct the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to study barriers to accessing non-drug alternatives to opioids to manage chronic and acute pain within the Medicare program, and provide a report to Congress on any existing barriers. Alternative treatments include acupuncture, physical therapy, occupational therapy, medical devices, and others.

Judy Chu (CA-27), H.R. 4684 will authorize the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to develop best practices for recovery residences that promote sustained recovery from substance use disorders.

The bill would provide for the authorization of funding for the Department of Defense and other related agencies, programs, and operations for Fiscal Year 2019. It authorizes approximately $639.1 billion for base budget requirements and an additional $69 billion designated for Overseas Contingency Operations (OCO). Rep.
