FEC that aggregate limits on campaign contributions through the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2002 are unconstitutional under the First Amendment. The 5-4 ruling opens the door for individuals to make unlimited contributions to politicians, political parties and political action funds, commonly known as PACs.
