DUARTE, CA. – Congresswoman Judy Chu, D-CA32, honored the winners of the 32nd District Artistic Discovery Contest during a special ceremony last Saturday, May 8, 2010, at the City of Hope's Cooper Auditorium in Duarte.
The five winners, young artists from high schools throughout the district, were selected by the Congresswoman and her 2010 Artistic Discovery Committee from among more than 130 entries received.
Washington, DC – Today, the House of Representatives approved an amendment offered by Rep. Chu to the America COMPETES Reauthorization Act that will help science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) students, particularly women and underrepresented minorities, transition from 2-year to 4-year institutions. It will ensure that all students, regardless of ethnicity or socioeconomic status are afforded every opportunity to enter STEM careers.

The Los Angeles Times profiled the successful Jobs NOW program, which has created thousands of temporary jobs for workers in L.A. County subsizided by federal stimulus dollars. Rep. Chu has co-sponsored a bill that would extend this vital and successful program beyond its current September expiration date.

Continues Fight to Restore Fiscal Discipline and Accountability in Washington
Washington, D.C. - Today, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 4849, the Small Business and Infrastructure Jobs Tax Act that included extension of vital job creation program in Los Angeles County informally referred to as Jobs NOW.
At a press conference today Congresswoman Judy Chu issued the following statement:
"Good afternoon! Today is a great day for Americans around the country – but an especially great day for Californians! Passage of H.R. 4849 means that Californians in 50 counties will see a very effective job creation program extended—the Jobs NOW program.
Rep. Judy Chu today issued the following statement lauding yesterday's historic House vote on health care reform. Congresswoman Chu voted yes on both H.R. 3590, the Senate version of the health care reform bill, and on H.R. 4872, the Reconciliation Act approved by the House to make changes to the Senate bill (Click here to see video of Rep.
